The Opportunity

Audit interns perform risk-based assurance and advisory engagements in the field of business operations / functions, finance, governance, risk management, compliance and / or information technology. This opportunity may lead to selection into a two-year development rotational program following graduation. Rotational placings may vary depending on business needs. Our interns deliver innovative solutions to real business challenges, while building enduring relationships in a collaborative culture with their manager and an assigned mentor. The internship is based at USAA Corporate Headquarters in San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, or our Charlotte, NC location. Interns offered full-time roles may have the opportunity to work out of one of USAA's satellite locations.

What You'll Do

Our Audit Interns, work under direct supervision and following risk and compliance procedures and guidance, perform routine work assignments and problem resolution to support other team members, including the following tasks :

• Complete assigned audit test steps timely and expertly with mentorship and support from the Auditor-in-Charge (AIC) / senior auditors in support of the annual audit plan and / or audit priorities.
• Completes basic audit documentation techniques, accountable for own work paper documentation within quality standards, timely and accurately.
• Develops an understanding on how to capture and analyze data to perform tasks assigned by AIC.
• Attends and participates in team audit activities such as planning and prioritization, business understanding / walkthroughs, review of risk assessment and testing for assigned areas of responsibility and demonstrates critical thinking ability and begins early-stage development of expertise (i.e., technology, CoSA, business line products, broadening business acumen).
• Assists in updating the engagement level risk & control matrix with mentorship and support from AIC.

What You Need To Have

To qualify, you must be pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university, and plan to graduate after the final day of the internship. Most of our interns participate the summer between their junior and senior years. Our 2026 internship will start on May 27, 2026, and last through August 7, 2026.

What Sets You Apart

Pursuing a degree with a concentration in Data Analysis. Knowledge of information security / technology.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is : $20 - $30. Interns will receive an intern stipend to assist with expenses. USAA does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
