The Chief of Clinical Services (Critical Care Physician) is responsible for providing working with the healthcare team to provide patients with critical medical care services within the standard of care for critical care patients for on-site clinic health units or events for rapid deployments to support emergency and disaster efforts.

This is a temporary position and length of assignment may vary based on operational needs and client requirements.

Location : Rapid Deployment could be to any location within the United States

This position is notional and contingent upon contract award

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Provides medical services at the scope and level of a Critical Care Physician to preserve the health of employees and client personnel.
  • Collaborates with the healthcare team to provide patients with critical medical care services within the standard of care for critical care patients.
  • Systematically assesses the urgent or emergent health needs of patients, analyzes data, and formulates a plan of care, with other members of the medical team, which is realistic in relation to the employee's capabilities and job requirements.
  • Recognizes and treats illnesses and injuries according to established operating instructions within the scope of licensure and regulations of state employment or practice.
  • Records and maintains patient information in accordance with standard protocols, and the Privacy Act.

Identifies and records the signs and symptoms of physical and mental conditions.

Thoroughly exercises skill in initiative, judgment, problem-solving and decision-making daily.

Makes independent judgments and prioritizes workload.

  • Protects patients' privacy through confidentiality, infection control procedures, assuring consistent medication administration, and assuring proper storage and maintenance procedures for all equipment and supplies.
  • Diagnose the patient's ailment and immediately start treatment.

Explain to the patient and their family about their ailment and educate them about the line of treatment they are starting.

  • Order diagnostic test on the patient as required.
  • Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified and documented medical conditions.
  • Discuss potential side effects of medication / treatment with patients and ensure that all allergy information is up to date before prescribing medication / treatment
  • Document treatment orders for each patient and ensure that the nurses follow those orders.
  • Recognizes and treats illnesses and injuries according to established operating instructions within the scope of licensure and regulations of state employment or practice.
  • Responsible for ensuring integrity and security of all privacy laws
  • Responds to a variety of inquiries of varying complexity by using knowledge and an understanding of established policies, procedures, and practices for safeguarding information (HIPAA, PHI, PII), including maintaining confidentiality of all company proprietary information.
  • Maintains professionalism, ethical standards, discretion, candor, privacy and confidentiality of all company proprietary information, meetings, communication, and documents, including implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization.
  • Identifies and records the signs and symptoms of physical and mental conditions.

  • Performs duties in a safe manner and follows the corporate safety policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with contract requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Graduate from an accredited medical school in which an MD or DO degree was earned. Active and unrestricted Physician License and the ability to be favorably credentialed.
  • 3 years post qualification of experience as a Physician in ICU / ER.
  • ACLS and BLS certification.
  • Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with computer and common office equipment, as well as with MS Office products required.
  • Must be able to perform duties in a stressful and high paced environment without physical limitations.
  • Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and / or command priorities.
  • Willingness to travel in the U.S. as needed

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Previous COVID-19 or Emergency Response experience.
  • 3 years' experience as a Chief Medical Officer.
  • 3 years Critical Care experience.
  • 3 years Infectious Disease experience.
  • 3 years Emergency Room experience.
  • 3 years Internist experience.
  • Advance Trauma Life Support (ATLS).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

  • Due to varied current global health climate, additional personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines may apply. Employees may potentially be working in an environment supporting the medical response to an emergency health crisis created by a highly infectious disease, COVID-19.
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
  • May require bending, stooping, and lifting as required for patient care and transport.
