The Arizona Attorney General's Office State Government Division / Transportation Section is seeking a Construction / Condemnation Assistant Attorney General.
This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures.

Job Duties :
While the position's working title is "Construction / Condemnation Attorney", the attorney will actually provide legal services and advice to the Department of Transportation on a wide variety of issues as assigned. The attorney will be responsible for handling all phases of complex litigation involving real property acquisition and construction contract disputes. Additional matters will include, but are not limited to, relocation issues, encroachments and other right-of-way issues, interpretation of any statutory intergovernmental agreements, interagency service agreements, property management issues, interpretation of any statutory of regulatory provisions relevant to ADOT activities, and review of proposed legislation or administrative rules. The attorney may also be asked to provide legal advice and representation on a variety of topics to ADOT's Motor Vehicle Division, Aeronautics Division, and various statutorily created boards and commissions.

Prior experience in civil litigation, civil trial work and civil motion practice.

The writing sample should contain an analysis of some substantive legal issue and provide insight concerning your ability to think and to explain and advocate for a particular position.
