Leap29 are seeking a Solar Project Developer to join an established Community Solar and Distributed Generation company in the Northeast.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development of community solar projects from inception to completion, working closely with stakeholders to ensure successful project implementation.

Location : Massachusetts, or remotely in the Northeast / Mid Atlantic.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Identify and evaluate potential sites for community solar projects in the Northeast region.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with landowners, utilities, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, including site assessments, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead the permitting process, including securing necessary approvals and permits.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Collaborate with engineering, legal, and finance teams to develop project designs and financing structures.
  • Oversee construction activities, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Coordinate interconnection and grid integration activities with utility partners.
  • Support marketing and sales efforts to attract subscribers to community solar projects.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, business, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 2-5 years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a focus on solar.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and delivering solar projects.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and permitting processes in the Northeast region.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
