Overview

Penguin Solutions Professional Services provides essential engineering services for the integration, configuration, and deployment of complex, integrated environments involving high-performance computing, cloud, and enterprise systems.

This position requires excellent customer service skills along with strong technical skills to install, document, configure, troubleshoot, and repair the deployed solutions.

Responsibilities

• The individual in this position will work independently and as part of a team to build, install, and troubleshoot complex computer and network systems.
• Perform in-factory and on-site racking and cabling, systems configuration, and systems verification
• Assist local technical support and repair engineers
• Test and troubleshoot computer hardware and network issues
• Fully document processes, procedures, and all work performed.
• Participate in growing Penguin Solutions’ technical capabilities through knowledge-sharing and team activities.
• Lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
• Travel up to 60% required

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in service installation of CAT6 and fiber cables
• Hands-on experience building or repairing compute servers
• Familiarity with data center settings
• Familiarity with Linux preferred but not required
• US citizenship required
• Valid driver’s license
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively

Location

We are looking for someone based in the Dallas, Texas area willing to travel up to 60% of the time.

Compensation & Benefits

The pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in Houston, Texas is $63,000 - $82,000; the pay ultimately offered within the expected range may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education.

The position is bonus-eligible, and there are medical, dental, and vision benefits available. There is a 401k saving plan and other benefits, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
