American Health Imaging is looking for a registered PRN CT Technologist for Summerville, SC. This is a PRN role, with hours from 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM, Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday availability.
Job Summary :
As a registered CT Technologist, you will perform high quality scans while providing excellent customer care and service to patients!
Responsibilities :
- Perform CT examinations as ordered and accurately critique images to ensure diagnostic quality.
- Choose appropriate protocol and technical factors according to age, size and symptoms of patient
- Provide thorough explanation of procedure to the patient, anticipating and responding to patients' needs and questions
- Position patients appropriately for ordered exam and assist patients on / off examination table as needed.
- Monitor patients during exam
- Verify patient information and obtain comprehensive medical history including any related prior studies
- Obtain consent for administration of IV contrast and follow established practices to provide treatment, documentation and follow-up in the case of any adverse effects of IV contrast administration
- Perform venipuncture for administration of IV contrast
- Prepare and administer contrast media according to established practices
- Utilize scanner within manufacture guidelines and take appropriate action for service as needed
- Utilize PACS and RIS for image processing and accurate documentation
- Maintain clear and safe environment, which includes preparing room for each patient
- Perform daily and monthly QA procedures on scanner
- Follow ALARA principles, Image Gently and Image Wisely to insure safe radiation practices.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA and Corporate Compliance regulations
- Initiate basic life support actions when necessary
- Use infection control practices
- Maintain punctuality and regular attendance
- All other duties as assigned
