At 42dot, our Vehicle Platform team is developing the architecture and algorithms that will change the DNA of how our vehicles drive and act. As a part of the endeavor we are establishing a laboratory and R&D facility. This role involves coordination and hands-on support for facility setup activities, shifting to lab operations and safety. Collaboration will be key as it works with global engineering and facilities teams.
Responsibilities
Build : Lead the setup and commissioning of the new high voltage and embedded electronics labs, including defining layout, equipment procurement, and initial operational procedures.
Management : Develop and implement robust inventory control systems for electronic components, development boards, tools, and consumables. Oversee the calibration, maintenance, and repair of all lab equipment.
Compliance : Establish and enforce strict safety protocols and procedures within the lab, ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. Conduct regular safety inspections and training.
Prototyping : Assist engineers with the assembly and modification of electronic prototypes, including component soldering, wiring, and enclosure integration.
Troubleshooting : Utilize test equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot issues at the board and component level.
Design : Assist in the design and fabrication of test fixtures and jigs for automated or semi-automated testing.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
Bachelor’s or Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Strong background in real-time systems, mechatronics, and automotive concepts.
Demonstrated experience with a wide range of electronic test and measurement equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in developing complex test fixtures and facilities.
Knowledge of automotive diagnostic tools and standards (e.g., ISO 14229, ISO 13400), as well as calibration tools.
Experience in building and utilizing automated pipeline systems.
Proven track record of building small test and laboratory teams.
Enjoyment in discovering and solving new problems in automotive.
