Overview
The Mgr CLIA Lab is a consistent leader that fosters a positive work environment for laboratory employees, successful collaborations with support teams, and ensures high quality and performance in the laboratory. The Mgr CLIA Lab is focused on creating processes to support business and laboratory objectives and streamline or modify laboratory workflows.
Shift : Monday-Friday 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm
Responsibility
Establish and maintain a positive work culture.
Serve as laboratory liaison to laboratory support teams and other internal groups associated with laboratory operations.
Makes recommendations regarding laboratory resources, expenses, and employee roles.
Coordinate resources, equipment, and scheduling necessary to provide the highest quality data and maintain optimal quality metrics.
Work with Accessioning and Call Review teams to ensure smooth flow of samples and samples' data through the laboratory workflows.
Work with Service Engineering Group and other support teams to create and / or maintain processes that ensure equipment up-time.
Work with Reagent Manufacturing and other support teams to maintain QC processes are effective and efficient.
Work with Procurement and Materials Management teams to ensure proper laboratory supplies are available in the appropriate locations at the quantities needed.
Coordinate resources with Call Review and Process Engineering teams to resolve quality investigations and provide process improvements.
Champion laboratory safety.
Ensure timely resolution of Non-Conformances and CAPAs, with a focus to prevent failure modes from repeating.
Coordinate laboratory resources to collaborate with development and engineering teams on operation improvements for successful implementation into laboratory.
Work with Facilities and Service Engineering to ensure laboratory facilities and equipment are properly maintained.
Ensure laboratory equipment layout that is conducive to safe and efficient daily operations.
Encourage and support process improvement and sustainment of improvements.
Work with laboratory supervisors to hire, train, and assess competency of laboratory personnel.
Qualifications
Meets the minimum education and experience requirements :
Valid Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license or Clinical Genetics Molecular Biology Scientist (CGMBS) license issued by the State of California.
Bachelor's degree in medical technology or a chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science with 6 years of pertinent lab experience,
OR
Master's degree in medical technology or a chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science with 4 years of pertinent lab experience,
OR
Doctoral degree in medical technology or a chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science with 2 years of pertinent lab experience .
Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
Preferred : NCA or ASCP board certification in molecular biology.
Preferred : Experience with Jira, Confluence, and data visualization tools such as Looker.

Physical Requirements
Lifting Requirements - light work or exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical Requirements - stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending / descending, communicating, and observing. Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions.
