Part-Time Chief Financial Officer (Family Office / Holdings)
Location : Remote with periodic in-person meetings (Austin / New Braunfels, TX)
Hours : 10–15 hours per week (flexible schedule)
Compensation : Competitive hourly or retainer-based rate, commensurate with experience

The portfolio is managed through Further Holdings , the family office entity, with operations spanning hospitality, art, real estate, and philanthropic ventures.
Role Overview
The Family Office CFO serves as both a strategic advisor and a hands-on financial operator across multiple businesses and entities.
This person brings structure, clarity, and accountability to a dynamic entrepreneurial environment — ensuring the financial health of each venture while freeing the principal to focus on strategy and growth.
You’ll partner closely with the owner, collaborate with an internal bookkeeper and external professionals, and have significant autonomy to design and implement systems that work.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with management teams to develop annual budgets and quarterly forecastsReview and analyze monthly P&Ls, providing concise, actionable insightBuild and oversee a right‑sized accounting structure (bookkeeper, A / P, entity flow)Manage treasury, inter‑company transfers, and consolidated cash forecastingMaintain banking relationships and oversee borrowing strategyLiaise with external tax advisors and legal counselImplement a consistent monthly financial reporting cadenceInvestment & Portfolio Management
Monitor and evaluate active investments (e.g., Restaurants and Real Estate)Support due diligence and financial modeling for new opportunitiesMaintain a quarterly Personal Financial Statement and entity‑level dashboardsAdvise on portfolio allocation, liquidity, and capital deployment prioritiesRisk & Compliance
Oversee property, casualty, and health insurance renewals and claimsCoordinate with legal counsel on contracts, leases, and compliance mattersMaintain entity documentation and annual filingsManage outsourced HR / benefits providerOperational & Administrative Support
Partner with the future Operations Manager to align finance and operationsOversee contract execution and approvals across entitiesAdminister investment and banking platformsSupport modernization of digital recordkeeping and shared‑drive systemsIdeal Background
15+ years in senior finance roles (CFO, VP Finance, Controller, or Family Office lead)Experience across real estate, private investment, or entrepreneurial environmentsStrong command of GAAP, cash‑flow forecasting, and investment analysisComfortable operating independently in a high‑trust, fast‑moving settingAbility to manage multiple entities with complex interrelationshipsCPA or MBA preferredSeniority level
