Our Thermo King business develops transport HVAC and refrigeration products that provide temperature control solutions to help our customers efficiently deliver cargo with confidence.  Using our range of transport refrigeration solutions, our customers deliver essential cargo, like food and pharmaceuticals, all while maintaining the critical temperature control-chain.

We are hiring an experienced  Controls Embedded   Software Architect , who will establish the modern software architectures and development practices for Thermo King’s products and oversee development of the next generation of solutions.  In this role, you will be responsible for the functional, technical, and integration architectures for software solutions, along with integrations with Thermo King’s internal systems, and the systems and devices of our customers, dealers, and partners.  You will collaborate with the architecture team and other team members to define how great controls solutions should work and then oversee the development of those solutions.

What you will do :

Technical expert for software architecture technology stack definition, leading analysis and improvements to design simplicity, modularity & re-use to provide software capabilities across Thermo King products

Create and govern architecture standards, cybersecurity, and modularity component roadmaps across product models, platforms, and regions with key engagement activity with Product management, Product Platform engineering, Telematics, and Controls teams

Evaluate and select appropriate software technologies and platforms for solution development.  Lead tradeoff analysis and recommendations, preparing and presenting architectural reports to senior management

Create software design process standard work guidelines, templates / tools (ie, system diagrams, calculation spreadsheets, error checking, etc…) to improve product development cycle time, promote consistency across teams, and to enable rapid innovation with a high degree of reuse

Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams, supporting the design, review, and implementation of software components

Ensure software meets all functional, security, regulatory (e.g., cybersecurity compliance), and quality requirements for industrial and transportation environments

Key Competencies & Skillset

What you will bring :

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering or related technical field with 10 years of experience

Preferred that have experience as an embedded architect

Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills for working in cross-disciplinary teams (software, hardware, systems engineering)

Multi-region travel up to 5% may be required

Compensation :

Base Pay Range : $120,000- $160,000

Additional Compensation : Total compensation for this role also will include an incentive plan.
