Job description

Coordinator, Community Engagement Initiative

The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting for a Coordinator, Community Engagement Initiative for the Whole Child and Community Design Department of the Student Services and Programs Division. Under administrative direction, the Coordinator, Community Engagement Initiative (CEI) serves as a liaison with key partners to support statewide CEI convenings and events, coordinate County Office programs, and provide leadership for new projects, including student leadership and youth development.

The position is grant-funded through June 30, 2029 under the Community Engagement Initiative.

Requirements / Qualifications

This position requires a combination of education and / or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in education, education administration, youth development, social work, or related field (master's preferred); and minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in pupil services, with proven success in community engagement, youth development, student services, and school climate / culture. Must include experience building effective partnerships with TK12 schools, leading community engagement activities, workshops, professional learning, and meetings, as well as at least three (3) years of managing people, projects, and / or programs.
