TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Indianapolis, Indiana, 46202!

$1,983 per week

About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Profession : Nursing

Specialty : Progressive Care Unit

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Day

Hours per Shift : 12 hours

Experience : Minimum 2 years in a similar role

License : Must have current nursing license prior to start date

Certifications : ACLS and BCLS

Must-Have :

Proficiency in cardiac monitoring

Management of chest tubes

Experience with fresh tracheostomies and feeding tube care

Care of post-operative patients

Experience with epidurals

Management of non-titratable cardiac drips

IV insulin protocols and titration

Description :

First-time travelers are accepted.

Locals are not accepted.

If a traveler calls in for a contracted shift, they are expected to make up the day during the pay period if they are a 0.9 FTE.

If unable to make up during the pay period, the shift will be added at the end of the traveler's contract.

For a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract.

Travelers will be expected to work every other weekend, with consecutive weekends possible based on operational needs.

Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed, with provided training and resources.

Floating is required, and travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care such as Med-Surg, PCU, and ICU.

Refusal to float may result in termination of contract.

Staffing ratios are 1 : 3-4.

Ideal candidates will have experience in surgical units with a focus on ENT, thoracic, and general surgical post-operative care.

Additional skills include arterial line management, blood product administration, and effective interpretation of dysrhythmias.

Candidates should demonstrate competence in telemetry and management of patients who require close monitoring.

Travelers will participate in interdisciplinary support and collaborate with various teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Working knowledge of special procedures and equipment relevant to the surgical progressive care unit is preferred.
