About The Position

Must-Have :

Experience in caring for surgical patients including total joints, fractures, bariatric, urology, and general medicine.

Experience with medical patients including CHF, CVA, shortness of breath, and diabetic issues.

Description :

This position involves working in a Medical-Surgical Float unit.

The unit has 61 combined beds.

The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1 : 5 during the day and 1 : 6 at night.

Nurses are not required to titrate drips.

There are nurse aids on the unit with a ratio of 1 : 15.

Respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow devices.

There is telemetry on the unit with a monitor technician for reading strips, but RNs will confirm them.

Weekend work is required every other weekend.

Holiday work is also required every other holiday.

There is a call or standby requirement.

Floating within the facility is necessary.

Any color of scrubs is acceptable.

The charting system used is EPIC.
