Position Overview :
The Director of Marketing will be responsible for implementing high funnel activities within the company to grow the business across multiple market segments.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions) :

- Organize and attend promotional events at trade shows and other venues, coordinating with staff to ensure prompt delivery of materials and merchandise
- Identify weaknesses in existing marketing campaigns and develop pragmatic solutions within budgetary constraints
- Communicate with other senior management about marketing initiatives and project metrics, as well as to brainstorm fresh strategies
- Works directly with management of the organization to develop marketing programs, design marketing strategies, and implement marketing campaigns.
- Provides leadership and direction in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the strategic marketing plan for the organization.
- Designs, writes, and oversees the production of printed promotional materials including catalogs, brochures, flyers, and program and media guides; designs layouts and prepares copy.
- Establishes and implements short and long range marketing goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for the organization; evaluates program effectiveness and effects changes required for improvement.
- Initiates and implements promotional special events such as, outreach and community events, exhibits, and product or service fairs.
- Develops and manages annual marketing budgets for the organization, regularly monitors expenditures; prepares summary assessments and reports.
- Initiates and implements direct outreach marketing efforts to potential external customers on behalf of the company.
- Conducts market research and analysis, and establishes data management and tracking systems to improve the organization's marketing efforts.
- Must be able to adhere to a regular work schedule
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills :
Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals.Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.Ability to plan, organize and coordinate events.Knowledge and understanding current and emerging industry requirements and practices in areas of marketing expertise.Ability to interpret industry needs and directions, assess capacity, and to plan, develop, and implement appropriate marketing strategiesData management and tracking skills.Ability to design and create promotional and marketing materials with only concept inputsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively work with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.Experience :
Minimum of 5 years working within Marine or Marine related industries.Physical Requirements :

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to communicate with others and must be able to exchange accurate information. This position requires standing, walking driving and bending. The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. This position involves frequent use of office equipment; computer, calculator, copy machine, fax and filing systems. The employee must be able to lift and / or move items up to 20 pounds. Position requires travel to various trade shows. When not traveling to events and shows, this employee is expected to report to the office during their normal work schedule and hours.
