Description of job:

Snapcare is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our Surgical Services team in Mishawaka, Indiana. The Surgical Technologist will assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff by preparing operating rooms, maintaining sterile fields, and ensuring all surgical equipment and supplies are ready for procedures. This role is critical to delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification or eligibility
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum of 1 year experience in an operating room setting

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain a sterile field for surgical procedures
• Set up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies before procedures
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments and supplies during surgery
• Anticipate surgeon needs and respond promptly during procedures
• Perform surgical counts (sponges, needles, instruments) with the circulating nurse
• Handle specimens according to facility protocol
• Clean and restock the operating room between cases
• Follow infection control, safety, and sterile processing standards
• Participate in emergency procedures and rapid response situations as needed
