Assistant Superintendent

Summary :

A local Columbus general contractor is looking to hire an Assistant Superintendent ahead of their busy construction season to help oversee a range of projects throughout the State of Ohio.

Current project portfolio consists of large ground up projects up to $50M for the automotive, warehouse and commercial construction industries.

Responsiblities :

• Help oversee daily jobsite activities
• Assist in the oversight of subcontractor and vendor set up
• Ensure proper safety is being adhered to on site according to company policy
• Lead daily morning meetings with the on site Superintendent
• Handle daily logs and other necessary job site documentation
• Communicate daily with engineers, owners, project managers and other stakeholders
• Complete jobsite walks with the appropriate parties
• Ensure smooth project delivery
• Assist jobsite Superintendent with additional tasks

Qualifications :

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 4-year Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field preferred but not required
• Minimum of at least 1-2 years experience working as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer or Assistant Superintendent in construction
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Valid Driver's License
• OSHA 30 Hour, First Aid / CPR certifications
• Proficient with latest construction technologies and scheduling software
• Ability to travel throughout the State of Ohio
• Candidates local to Ohio preferred (can be based anywhere in the state) or experience working in the State of Ohio
