Responsibilities :
- Align sustainability program and Ensure ESG compliance with the company’s core values, strategy, and goals.
- Collaborate and consult with cross-functional teams to ensure sustainability is consolidated and integrated into all business practices across all operations, policies, practices, and metrics.
- Manage ongoing relationships, support, and deliverables from an engaged sustainability consulting firm.
- Partner with the consulting firm to define environmental and social impact metrics, create executive and operational leadership buy-in to measure and report against those metrics, and to manage companywide metrics reporting into an existing database to foster continuous improvement to maximize the organization's environmental and social stewardship.
- Identify resources, budget, and processes necessary to guide sustainability initiatives.
- Prioritize continuous improvement opportunities, develop business cases to support proposed initiatives, and help guide improvement implementations.
- Measure and report on the organization's sustainability performance, design future improvements, and communicate progress and necessary improvements to senior management, employees, and stakeholders.
- Develop partnerships with external organizations, customers, suppliers, and local communities to promote sustainability and share best practices.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, statistics, sustainability science, or related field.
Master’s degree in sustainability compliance, environmental policy or economics preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive experience leading and managing sustainability initiatives, environmental management, with thorough and current knowledge of sustainability practices, applicable laws and regulations including the frameworks outlined in the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, and Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB).
- Working knowledge of ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance) standards, regulations, compliance, and reporting.
- Experience in project management including creating, interpreting, and executing a budget.
- Strong demonstrated interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in-office at the SLC Headquarters and travel domestically and internationally, including to remote areas with limited facilities, approximately 25%.
