Job Title : Medical Assistant

Position Summary :

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The Medical Assistant will support providers by performing both administrative and clinical duties to ensure the smooth operation of the practice and high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities :

Greet and prepare patients for examination, recording vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints.

Assist providers during examinations and procedures.

Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider.

Perform basic laboratory tests, collect specimens, and prepare them for processing.

Manage patient records by documenting care provided, updating charts, and ensuring accurate entry in the electronic medical record (EMR).

Handle administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance, and processing referrals.

Educate patients about prescribed medications, procedures, or preventive care as directed by the provider.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment by following infection-control guidelines.

Ensure equipment and supplies are stocked and functioning properly.

Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and colleagues.

Qualifications :

High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.

Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) strongly preferred.

Current CPR / BLS certification required.

Previous experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare setting preferred.

Knowledge of medical terminology, EMR systems, and basic clinical procedures.

Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.

Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and demonstrate professionalism with patients and staff.

Work Environment :

Clinical setting, working directly with providers and patients.

May involve standing for extended periods, occasional lifting, and handling of medical supplies and equipment.
