A\nSnapshot of Your Day

The primary purpose of this position is to\nset up and operate, program manual and CNC horizontal milling machines, manual\nlathes, and CNC lathes performing detailed operations on a variety of parts and\ncomponents. Use a range of tools, including milling cutters, boring bars and\nheads, saws, micrometers, gauges, indicators, and more. Your role will require\na proven understanding of shop mathematics and the capacity to interpret\ncomplicated drawings, specifications, charts, and tables. You should also have\nexperience with precision measuring instruments and / or specialized occupation\ntraining.

How\nYou’ll Make an Impact

• Using\nmaterial handling devices to load / unload parts from machines or assist the\ncrane operator. You will be setting up machines by installing tooling and\nadjusting machine settings, feeds, speeds, etc., according to job documentation\nand drawing specifications.
• Securing\nwork pieces using various tools and equipment to ensure accurate alignment and\nleveling.
• Following\nestablished procedures and using lineups, manuscripts, programs, and tooling\nsheets to operate machines.
• Perform\nmachining operations using manual, semi-automatic, or automatic controls to\nmill, drill, ream, bore, tap, turn, face, groove, radius, and grind, among\nother operations.
• Conduct\nin-process integrity checks to maintain specific drawing tolerances and perform\nin-process testing and data recording and making vital tool changes or offsets\nand re-orienting machines as required.
• Removing\nchips from work pieces and performing inspections and deburring / cleaning as\nneeded, as well as perform preventative maintenance and minor machine repairs,\nand complete required documentation, such as log sheets and downtime records.
