Summary
The role is focused ongathering and analyzing data used to forecast proper deployment of resources. A large part of the day is spent on planning, managing, and controlling a portfolio of products from forecasting and demand to plan output in order to support commercial, financial, and operational plans. Data review consists of organizational finished good inventories and established line of sight of product that is considered work-in-progress (WIP) with expected delivery dates. Properly deploy resources with consideration of logistical movement of product from manufacturer or cultivator to the retail stores in accordance with the (1) sku rationalization program or (2) retail assortment guidelines. Planning, managing, and controlling portfolio of product should emanate from partnership with organizational leadership in manufacturing and cultivation to gain accurate insight as to what is available for the retail vertical to use to meet par demand or promotional strategies and placing the appropriate delivery orders for retail facilities to satisfy demand.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Review and analyze the forecast demand versus actual demand, understanding changes and trends, and adjusting ensuring the partnership between wholesale and retail is maximized
Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to ensure that the promotions, visible impact orders, and new product forecasts are included in the aggregate demand
Notify retail leadership team of significant forecast or capacity changes in a timely manner including failed flower testing, rejections, major price changes, etc.
Communicate with Manufacturing about promotions, new products forecasts, and launch timing updates on behalf of retail marketing & planning
Assist in the resolution of key supply-demand / service-cost issues
Oversee and be accountable to retail par levels (internal), total weeks on hand
Partner with the National Director of Retail, Sr. Retail Marketing and Operations Manager, and National Retail Buyer to conduct costing and ROI analyses for promotions with first and third-party vendors, fostering mutually beneficial relationships.
Partner with the National Director of Retail, Retail Marketing Manager and National Retail Buyer on Pricing & Promotion planning.
Document assumptions, promotions, and adjustments to forecasts using Retail Operations and Retail Marketing teams input
Analyze and upload timely and accurate 90-day forecasts for marketing leadership to evaluate, develop, and implement promotional plans in advance
Facilitate monthly demand forecast aggregation, including consensus between functions and stakeholders
Build, implement, and continuously improve repeatable SOPs for buying practices and best-in-class demand planning and S&OP processes.
Assist with the coordination, facilitation, and documentation of regularly scheduledplanning meetings
Review, store, and backup final adjusted and unadjusted statistical forecasts
Measure, control, and improve S&OP plan accuracy through clearly defined metrics
Partner appropriately with accounting, retail, and marketing teams to ensure accurate invoicing, naming conventions, pricing, and planning to mitigate costs and maximize service
Perform related duties as assigned by your manager
Qualifications
E ducation and Experience
Must be 21 years of age or older
Bachelors degree required
2+ years of relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities)
Cannabis industry experience is preferred
Proficient knowledge and understanding of procurement, logistics and inventory management practices
Experience working independently and as part of a team to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

Working knowledge of modern manufacturing, material flow, and improvement strategies, and the ability to integrate those into the planning process for greater understanding of timing in product delivery
Demonstrated understanding of financial systems and the key drivers within the retail environment : Product Margin, Product Cost, Inventory Carry, Inventory Cost, Product and SKU Velocities, Consumption Rates
