Position Overview

The Business Analyst within the Master Data team will play an integral role in our journey to "good" data. The individual in this position will work closely with key stakeholders to identify and analyze business critical data within the organization obtained from a variety of sources, including but not limited to customer, human resources, financial, recruiting, and sales data.

The following responsibilities of this role will support the mission, vision, and objectives of the Data Management department :

• Through data profiling, data quality assessments, and data cleansing, ensure enterprise master and reference data conforms to approved data standards across systems
• Partner with data owners, data stewards, and delivery teams to define and implement processes to ensure data quality across systems
• Partner with the Data Governance and Privacy and Protection teams to help develop and enforce policies and ensure compliance with data quality standards
• Identify best practices and process improvements for data management based on analysis and solicited feedback from IT and business partners
• Play an integral role in ongoing maturity of the Master Data team by ensuring the following areas adhere to best practices and are performed consistently :

o Analyzing and documenting critical business data flows

o Collecting, analyzing, and understanding data from multiple internal and external sources

o Researching and documenting best practices around data controls and data quality, which will ensure data delivery is fit for purpose within the business line or for assigned system of record or business process(s)

o Gathering data quality and data standards requirements and translating them into product backlog features and stories

o Identifying inconsistencies and sources of data errors within and across systems and recommending and / or enacting solutions to remedy the issues

o Ensuring data complies with naming standards and data definitions

o Ensuring the product backlog is up-to-date and prioritized appropriately
