Position Summary : The Field Engineer works directly with customers and account managers to develop systems, assemblies, and services that improve fluid systems and increase sales. This role is part of the sales model and focuses on solving fluid system problems while establishing Swagelok as the customers trusted expert. Training through the Swagelok Field Engineering program ensures proficiency across the services offered. The ideal candidate will have strong people skills, curiosity, and the ability to solve complex problems.
Responsibilities
- Become the regional subject matter expert on Swagelok offerings, fluid processes, and instrumentation applications.
- Develop programs and provide training to distributor associates and end-users.
- Qualify and quote assembly solution opportunities for customers.
- Consult with customers to develop assembly layouts and drawings.
- Support internal production activities for assemblies as needed.
- Provide engineering support to account managers during sales calls.
- Provide technical support and solutions to customers and Swagelok employees.
- Create 3D CAD models as required for projects.
- Influence sales growth of custom assemblies and services.
- Build key customer relationships.
- Identify new business opportunities and learn customer applications for future projects.
- Position Swagelok as the customer's preferred supplier.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent science-related field is required.5+ years' experience in process and / or manufacturing industry.Field Engineering or other customer interfacing experience in a technical capacity preferred.Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Strong background in Windows-based computer programs.Collaborative work with the production / manufacturing team.Works well under pressure, meets deadlines, achieves goals, and can manage multiple projects.Self-starter with excellent time management skills.Growth mindset; can use business systems (CRM / SAP).3D CAD (SolidWorks) experience is a plus.Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong mechanical aptitude.Detail-oriented; ability to network with peers globally and work in a team setting.Instrumentation / process piping utility fluid systems knowledge; friendly, outgoing personality.Solid business acumen.Culture
