This position requires working days, evenings, and weekends (Friday - Sunday), including holidays, on-call, and callback as per unit needs.
CT Technologist Duties and Responsibilities
- Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan; strictly adhere to department policy and procedure for patient safety.
- Coordinate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging.
- Prepare patients for scans and explain the procedure to help them feel comfortable.
- Insert IVs when necessary for the test.
- Position patients accordingly, which may include lifting or moving patients with limited mobility; must utilize safe patient handling.
- Maintain accurate patient record keeping by properly documenting all necessary components within EPIC, including identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly upon exam completion.
- Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility.
Requirements
Completion of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology and maintains Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).NYS licensure (must obtain prior to starting position).Two (2) years of experience.Level 1 Trauma Center experience.BLS (American Heart Association ONLY).Preferred Qualifications
