POSITION SUMMARY
The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for operating and cross-training on all CNC machines involved in the production of metal financial cards. This role ensures machines are operated efficiently, safely, and in strict compliance with production and security requirements. The operator must follow detailed job specifications, use the provided tools and instructions, and maintain high standards of quality, precision, and security. This position requires a strong attention to detail, a commitment to maintaining PCI and High-Security Area protocols.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Operate CNC machines to cut, engrave, or mill metal financial cards to precise specifications.
- Transfer card materials and components between CNC stations efficiently and without damage.
- Maintain accurate production logs, machine audit records, and quality control checklists as per training.
- Clearly and accurately complete all forms and documentation, including part identification and job tracking sheets.
- Assist with material counts, inventory audits, and tracking raw stock used in production.
- Perform routine machine cleaning, maintenance checks, and minor troubleshooting to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Keep the CNC workstation clean, organized, and compliant with safety and quality standards.
- Strictly follow all company safety procedures, including PPE use and machine-specific safety practices.
- Follow PCI security standards and company protocols related to the handling of high-security metal financial cards.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the CNC Supervisor or Production Manager.
- Ensure strict adherence to manufacturing processes, card specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P.s)
- Inspect cards during and after machining for defects, dimensional accuracy, and surface quality.
- Take ownership of machine performance, product quality, and output goals.
- Maintain situational awareness to prevent security breaches, equipment issues, or production defects.
Required Skills / Abilities :
Ability to effectively communicate with peers, supervisors, and quality assurance personnel.Strong written and verbal communication skills for completing logs and reporting issues.Ability to write clearly and concisely on inspection reports, tracking sheets, and audit documents.Basic arithmetic skills, including measurement conversion (e.g., mm / inch) and understanding of tolerances.Problem-solving mindset with a focus on identifying and resolving machine or part issues quickly.Understanding of or willingness to learn CNC programming basics, machine codes, and tool setup.High attention to detail and precision—critical for producing secure, tamper-resistant financial cards.Commitment to safety, security, and confidentiality in a high-security production environment.Education and Experience :
High school diploma or higher education required.Use and handling of materials and card manufacturing equipment.Physical Requirements :
