Technical Writer I

Overview

Technical Writer I role at Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. in Portsmouth, VA.

This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Provides daily technical support to the Management team.
• Assists in the development of written procedures for Safety, Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical Trades work and tasks.
• Assists in development of safety, quality control and inspection procedures for inclusion in test and inspection plans for production Work-Packages.
• Assists to define test standards and specifies test equipment associated with requirements established in test and inspection plans and / or Technical Work Documents (TWDs).
• Works with customer QA / Safety representatives to establish inspection and acceptance criteria.
• Reviews QA / Safety control requirements with customer representatives to ensure compliance with requirements.
• Reviews contractually required quality / safety documentation for accuracy and completeness for project / job / contract completion.
• Reviews Technical Work Documents and Condition Reports to ensure work is performed within NAVSEA requirements and specifications; supports development of BOMs for changes.
• Recommend and assist in implementing changes to Technical Work Documents and Internal Process Instructions to improve clarity and first-time success.
• Review and assist in resolving SUBSAFE, DSS / SOC and LEVEL 1 issues.
• Provide technical engineering support for all contracts and assist leadership to meet schedule and budget goals.

Non-Supervisory . Provide support for production team members as assigned related to the technical requirements.
