Title : Project Manager
The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in the planning, execution, and successful delivery of battery energy storage projects. The role will support all phases of major projects including business development support (proforma modelling inputs including Capex, schedule, taxes, insurance, etc.), site development, permitting support (air, water, state, local, etc...), interconnection activities, scope of work development, RFP solicitations and evaluations, major contract negotiations (equipment, engineering or EPC), construction and commissioning activities, and transition to commercial operation, including project registrations with state and federal agencies.
The Project Manager will lead a team of internal personnel in support of executing projects
and will manage external consultants. The position will report
to the VP of EPC.
Roles & Responsibilities :
- Develop comprehensive project plans outlining project scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines
- Lead project teams in executing plans, ensuring adherence to safety standards, quality and project specifications
- Align with Project Development team to facilitate a seamless transition from development to execution phase
- Ensure effective collaboration, communication, and tracking of tasks cross-departmentally while identifying and reconciling scope gaps as they arise with responsible business lines for responsible projects
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, finance, procurement, policy / regulatory, and operations, to ensure project alignment with overall company objectives
- Create and maintain positive relationships with Owners engineering firms, suppliers, vendors, and contractors
- Coordinate and allocate resources effectively to meet project requirements
- Manage project budgets, and navigate counterparty change order requests, to ensure financial targets are met without compromising safety, quality or schedule
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to ensure successful project delivery
- Develop and implement contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges
- Conduct regular project reviews to evaluate performance against established benchmarks
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards throughout all project phases
- Support procurement and policy
teams in monitoring and managing regulatory changes that may impact project execution
Generate and present regular project status reports to senior management; reporting on project progress, and identifying and addressing potential risks / challengesAlign with Asset Management team to facilitate a seamless transition from construction to operation phaseProvide insights and recommendations for process improvements based on project outcomesParticipate in quarterly Lessons Learned and Risk Register updates with cross-functional stakeholdersPerform other related duties and special projects as assignedSkills :
Proficiency with Microsoft software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, etc.); Experience with Procore a plusAbility to communicate across a broad spectrum of technical understanding - written, verbal and non-verbalStrong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teamsAbility to coordinate resolution of technical problems and implement changeFamiliarity with phases of engineering including scope creation, detailed design, engineering implementation, field engineering, and start-up supportDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyCharacteristics of an ideal candidate :

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, Engineering Management,Construction Management, or Project Management
Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in construction or engineering (renewables preferred); minimum of 2 years as a Project Manager or 4 years as a Project EngineerProject Management certification(s) preferredPE license preferredTravel & Time Commitment :
Approximately 25% of time will be on the road; will vary based on status of projectsWork travel includes solo site visitsExpect limited travel related to industry conferences and company eventsThis is a full-time, exempt salaried position. Standard office hours are from 8 : 30 AM 5 : 30 PM EST. The demands of projects may require work outside of these times.Benefits :
