Director, IT M&A - Due Diligence, Integration, and Separation

KPMG is currently seeking a Director, IT M&A – Due Diligence, Integration, and Separation to join our Strategy Transaction group in the Deal Advisory and Strategy practice.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee comprehensive buy‑side and sell‑side IT assessments for potential client acquisitions; identify key IT risks, opportunities, and required investments, and deliver executive‑level due diligence reports with strategic recommendations.
- Direct IT integration and separation initiatives from planning through execution; oversee the development of strategic deliverables such as IT current‑state assessments, entanglement identification, IT operating model definitions, synergies, and day‑one and post‑close plans.
- Establish and manage program governance frameworks, ensuring rigorous oversight of project execution; lead the development of governance work products such as status reporting, risk management, and issue tracking.
- Collaborate with senior cross‑functional teams to identify IT‑related dependencies, risks, and opportunities; ensure strategic alignment with deal objectives and respond proactively to evolving business needs.
- Develop and execute go‑to‑market strategies to promote the firm’s Technology M&A offerings; identify business development opportunities, craft compelling value propositions, and engage with clients to expand the practice’s reach and impact.
- Lead efforts to mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and high performance.
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG’s respectful and courteous work environment.
Qualifications
Minimum eight years of recent experience in technology / business consulting and / or technology leadership, with a proven track record of leading IT transformations and advising on complex M&A transactions.Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, finance, or related field required.Demonstrated success in leading high‑impact IT‑focused M&A projects with expertise in at least three of the following : system integration / separation, platform migration, IT architecture modernization, outsourcing of IT operations, or regulatory technology implementation.In‑depth knowledge of post‑merger IT integration, carve‑out separation, process reengineering, offshoring strategies, and IT risk and compliance management.Proven ability to lead and mentor cross‑functional teams, with advanced program management skills to oversee large, complex projects and deliver strategic insights to executive audiences.Experience developing and executing go‑to‑market strategies and driving business growth in the M&A space, including client relationship management and engagement in business development activities.Willingness and ability to travel as needed.Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employment‑based visa sponsorship. KPMG LLP will not sponsor U.S. work visas for this opportunity.KPMG offers a competitive compensation package with salary ranges for this role in the range of $165,000 – $319,000 depending on location.
