Position : Business Development Manager
Location : Hybrid (Heavy travel from San Antonio, TX - Austin, TX)
Working Hours : flexible (as long as 40 hours are worked)
Salary : Up to $130k
Must Have :
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business development within the public infrastructure engineering sector.
- Proven track record of developing and winning RFPs / RFQs for municipal, state, or federal infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated success in building relationships with public agencies such as DOT, Army Corps of Engineers, or city planning departments.
- History of working with multi-disciplinary teams on large-scale infrastructure pursuits.
- Ability to analyze market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic planning.

Day-to-Day :
Review updates from government infrastructure agencies (e.g., DOT, EPA, Army Corps).Scan news for public funding announcements, RFPs, or regulatory changes.Check internal dashboards for project pipeline status.Join / lead weekly tactical meetings with engineering and proposal teams.Discuss active pursuits, proposal deadlines, and client feedback.Flag any new opportunities or strategic partnerships.Research upcoming infrastructure projects (bridges, water systems, transit).Identify key stakeholders in city / state agencies.Send introductory emails or schedule calls with potential clients or partners.Meet with proposal managers and technical leads to shape win themes.Review scope, budget, and compliance requirements for active RFPs.Coordinate teaming arrangements with subcontractors or joint ventures.Attend networking lunch with municipal contacts or industry peers.Discuss upcoming capital improvement plans or funding cycles.Present firm capabilities and past performance to a city departments.Update CRM with meeting notes and opportunity status.Share insights with marketing for targeted campaigns.Analyze market trends and competitor activity.Prepare briefing for leadership on high-value pursuits.Draft executive summary for upcoming proposal submission.Meeting preparationSend follow-up emails and confirm next steps with clients.
