Overview
We\'re looking for an Electrical Engineering Specialist who is excited about working on projects that enable the heart of our clients\' business. This is a hybrid position in Portland, Oregon; however, well qualified candidates in the US will also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks on mission critical projects, gaining familiarity with the client\'s expectations, scope, budget, and schedule.
- Provide on-site assistance during startup and coordinate work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead.
- Collaborate with a multi-discipline, highly interactive team to produce installation details, motor control center single lines, electric room layouts, motor elementaries, connection diagrams, cable schedules, control panel layouts and grounding, lighting, and power plans.
- Assist directly with the more complex portions of the design process, interacting with the client, owner, and contractors to assist construction on site.
- Work closely with client owners in a fast-paced, dynamic environment to establish design requirements and produce construction documents.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) licenseAt least 15 years of experience in engineering design of building electrical systemsExtensive electrical engineering power distribution design experience for semiconductor or mission critical facilitiesSolid working knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and IEEE standardsExperience with UPS and EPMS systemsExperience with generator sizing and parallelingExtensive design experience with electrical power system equipment / components, such as switchgears, transformers, panelboards, generators, UPS, etc.Team leadership and client interaction experienceEffective verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProject lead experienceForward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideasDisplayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge baseAbility to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teamsPassionate about buildings and constructionPreferred / Ideal

Base pay range : $155,600.00 / yr - $200,000.00 / yr. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Our health and welfare benefits include medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, a 401(k) plan, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discount. Eligible employees may enroll in a deferred compensation plan or the Executive Deferral Plan. Jacobs offers unlimited U.S. Personalized Paid Time Off (PPTO) for full-time salaried / exempt employees, seven paid holidays, one floating holiday, and caregiver leave.
