Associate Director Of Accounts Payable
Well-established charter school system based in Upper Manhattan. This role is 2 days per week in office and offers someone with previous AP experience a chance to work with a collaborative department with an educational system making a difference.
Job Description
This role will involve :
- Manages day-to-day financial operations and oversees the related month-end close processes in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Reviews invoices thoroughly to ensure accuracy, including checks to confirm no duplicate billing, verifying totals, ensuring no sales tax is charged, and validating all key details.
- Serves as a liaison with vendors, managers, and procurement to address and resolve any issues related to invoice processing.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to streamline invoice entry and payment processes, driving efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
- Manages a team of overseas consultants responsible for processing bills, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to company standards.
- Defines, refines, and implements payables processes and systems that ensure compliance while also enabling timely and accurate payment cycles.
- Manages vendor onboarding and maintenance processes, including resolving discrepancies related to payment terms, banking information, and ensuring proper documentation (i.e., W-9 forms).
- Prepares and issues 1099 vendor forms in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Documents and improves financial processes to ensure clarity, efficiency, and scalability as the organization grows.
- Wears multiple hats in a lean, startup-style environment by supporting various team functions and taking on new projects or tasks as needed.
