Director of Business Development - Job Posting

Today's Power, Inc. (TPI), is the energy partner for all renewable and technologically advanced innovations that lead to an improvement in the quality of life and energy we consume.

TPI's diversified, renewable and efficient solutions allow TPI to combine the appropriate solar system, customized storage systems, grid energy routers, electric vehicle leasing / financing and EV charging stations.

TPI is owned by Arkansas Electric Cooperatives, Inc. and was created to serve our members who had a desire to offer community solar to their members.

TPI was organized in 2014 to service members and neighboring states quickly learned of our program. TPI is now one of the most qualified renewable energy companies in the nation with more utility scale projects than any Arkansas based company.

Summary / Purpose :

The Director of Business Development plays a pivotal role in driving business growth. This role involves developing and executing strategies to boost sales, revenue, and market expansion of the company.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities :

Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Lead Company's business development initiatives, including, but not limited to, drafting and tracking proposal and grant responses.
  • Update, maintain and implement Company's Marketing Plan.
  • Develop and implement effective sales and marketing strategies to assist in the growth of the Company.
  • Analyze customer feedback and identify opportunities to improve the sales process and customer experience.
  • Lead the marketing department and develop effective promotional strategies, consistent with the Company's Marketing Plan.
  • Initiate negotiations for securing new business opportunities, including sales, joint ventures and / or partnerships.
  • Ensure alignment of new business opportunities with the company's culture, mission, and vision.
  • Consults with potential customers to understand their needs.
  • Identify, target, and analyze new markets, partners, and customers to expand the business.
  • Utilize a network of contacts for insights into industry trends and market developments.
  • Contributes to and maintains divisional budget.
  • Ensures products / services being offered can be provided consistent with the Company's standards.
  • Assist senior staff in compliance with strategic planning tasks.

Qualifications :

Preferred Education / Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in related field plus 7+ years of progress business development experience.
  • Creating and meeting metrics that satisfy the organization's revenue and profit goals.
  • Leading a sales department or division of an organization.
  • Experience in and knowledge of the renewable energy industry.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Thorough understanding of company process and procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office 365
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to facilitate conflict resolution.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervise : Marketing / Public Relations Coordinator

Physical Demands / Working Conditions

  • Prolonged periods stationary working at a computer.
  • Ability to travel overnight roughly 50% of the time.
  • Must be able to lift at least 15 pounds at a time.
