Responsibilities Work in a hospital Emergency Department with a patient population ranging from neonates to geriatrics Level I Trauma Center, STEMI & Stroke certified facility Average daily census is 130 with 52 rooms / beds Nurse to patient ratio is 1 : 4 Schedules are self-scheduled and require every other weekend coverage for 6 shifts per contract Night shift position (3x12 hours, 18 : 00-6 : 30) EMR required : Epic; medication management with Omnicell; SBAR communication Responsibilities include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, phlebotomy, and starting IVs Experience required with CVA / neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, TBI, ortho-trauma, pediatric emergencies, CPAP / BiPAP, and gunshot wounds Self-scheduling is utilized to accommodate shift preferences Every other weekend coverage is required Travelers should be aware of the area's high cost of living Requirements Active CA RN license required Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience with trauma and pediatric ED required First-time travelers will be considered Certifications required : ACLS, BCLS, PALS, TNCC or ATCS, CPI Experience with arterial and central line management, IV vasopressors, procedural and continuous IV sedation, and trauma cases Ability to care for ventilated patients and interpret ABGs Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-632373.
