Control Systems Electrical Engineer - Advanced Reactors & Advanced Fuel Management

Location : Richland, WA | Full-Time / Regular | ID : 3805-378

Overview

This is a full-time role in the Fuel Business Unit. You will design and maintain nuclear fuel fabrication plant manufacturing equipment, work with engineering staff to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards, and support a highly automated facility with process and production equipment and related systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintenance of nuclear fuel fabrication plant manufacturing equipment
  • Ensure components and assemblies adhere to applicable industry and business standards
  • Consult with engineering staff and technicians / craft to ensure compliance with design specifications and plant or industry standards
  • Apply advanced techniques in CAD and incorporate standard design applications
  • Start up, commissioning, operations, and maintenance of process and production equipment and associated facilities and support systems
  • Support of 24 / 7 fuel manufacturing facility in engineering projects and maintenance
  • Learn existing plant systems and support improvement projects and maintenance activities at a facility with highly automated chemical processes
  • Occasional travel as required

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related Engineering degree
  • At least 3 years of directly related experience
  • Knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria
  • Good communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data
  • Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships, and work collaboratively within a team environment
  • Good problem identification and problem resolution skills
  • Displays informal leadership characteristics and a questioning attitude with self-checking practices
  • Significant experience with industrial automation, instrumentation, and controls
  • Design / program industrial PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley) or similar platforms
  • Evaluate electrical systems toward applicable electrical standards, human factors, installation / cost, and maintenance best practices
  • Oversee field work including new installations, integration into existing systems, and troubleshooting
  • Project management experience (capital appropriations, cost, schedule) and managing electrical craft resources

    Compensation & Benefits

    The base salary range for this position is $92,000 – $124,000 and may include incentives, performance bonuses, and benefits. Final compensation varies based on qualifications, skill level, competencies, and location. Benefits include :
