Position Summary
The Surgical Oncologist coordinates a course of treatment for patients with a variety of benign and malignant disease while working with an inter-disciplinary team of general surgeons, plastic surgeons, radiologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, nurses, pharmacists and other ancillary professionals. The Surgical Oncologist will act as an expert in the diagnosis and preoperative, operative, and postoperative treatment of malignant disease. May occasionally be required to perform general surgery.
Required Skills
Demonstrated expertise in General Surgery and Surgical Oncology diagnoses : assessment, intervention, and patient care management. Knowledgeable regarding General Surgery and Surgical Oncology scope of practice.Fellow or certification from an accredited program.Demonstrated leadership abilities.Excellent customer service skills.Strong interpersonal, communication skills, written and verbal, and conflict resolution abilities. Independent performer.Required Experience
Current California Medical license.Graduate from an accredited Medical School.Graduate from an accredited General Surgery Residency program.Evidence of continuing education and self-development to support license requirements.Board Certification from American Board of Surgery; board certified or board eligible.Benefits
