Sales Representative Responsibilities : As a Technical Sales Representative, you'll play a pivotal role in expanding our market presence. Your primary responsibilities will include :
Responsibilities
- Devising and executing sales strategies for existing chemical manufacturing clientele while actively pursuing new business opportunities.
- Targeting sizable maintenance and turn-key fabrication projects within plant settings and via EPCs to boost sales efforts.
- Identifying potential accounts, researching new markets, and establishing strong relationships by offering technical expertise and guidance as needed.
- Showcasing our company's capabilities to technical engineers, managers, and key decision-makers at engineering and end-user firms.
- Proficiently understanding customer RFQs and company quotes to facilitate product and service discussions.
- Monitoring quote outcomes to analyze hit rates and determine reasons behind successes or losses.
- Maintaining comprehensive records of customer interactions and communications in our ERP database.
- Collaborating with internal operations to stay updated on ongoing work status and ensure customers are informed.
- Meeting set objectives for overall sales, quote volumes, and customer data collection.
- Conducting thorough research on major competitors and staying informed about market trends.
- Providing sales projections for the coming 1-3 years based on historical data and planned projects.
- Actively participating in trade shows and networking events.
- Willingness to travel extensively along the Gulf Coast region.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Sales Management / Marketing, Industrial Distribution / Technology, or Mechanical / Process Engineering.Sales Representative Experience
0-5 years in Industrial Sales or related industrial plant work.Proficiency in MS Windows, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), Front Page, Adobe PageMaker, Microsoft Publisher.Demonstrated ability to conduct engaging presentations in various settings.Familiarity with machining and / or fabrication in the petrochemical industry is advantageous.Personal Qualities
Ambitious and driven by a strong work ethic.Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for internal and external engagements.Comfortable addressing queries from technical and engineering personnel at plant levels.Proven track record of setting and achieving sales targets.Strong organizational skills with a self-motivated approach to taking initiative.Reporting to
