Description
The Division of Technology and Innovation within the Florida Department of Education is seeking a motivated individual to serve in a full-time position as a Computer Programmer Analyst in the Bureau of PK12-Education Information Services (EIS). EIS facilitates K-12 school data collections and reporting and is responsible for providing guidance to Department Program Areas and school district Management Information Services (MIS) personnel on district data file submissions. Data collections are primarily survey based, with occasional supplemental file submission needs.
Under the supervision of the PK-12 Education Information Service (EIS) manager, the Computer Programmer Analyst will :
Assist in maintaining the Public-School Master School Identification (MSID) file by verifying and updating data on new and existing schools, submitting it for approval as needed, and ensuring files and documentation are up to date. This includes providing technical assistance on the MSID's file structure, uses and data to school districts, DOE, agency personnel and others.
Facilitate, in collaboration with other staff, the bi-weekly MSID School Approval Committee (SAC) meetings providing necessary MSID applications and documentation for SAC review prior to the meetings, Must also put together the recommendations from the SAC and submit them to Division leadership for final review.
Update and implement, in collaboration with other staff, the annual Database Manuals Rollover process, ensuring the latest database updates and changes are in accordance with Department programs policies. This includes communicating the updates to the School Support Team (SST), the DQ2 (Data Quality) application support team, and school district personnel for implementation.
Revise and manage, in collaboration with other staff, the weekly updates to the Student and Staff Information Database Manuals; ensuring they are accurate, appropriately formatted, approved by the PK-12 EIS manager, and share with SST and DQ2 teams.
Review, format, and analyze survey data reports generated from school district on Staff and / or Student information. This includes following up with districts regarding the data quality of their submissions based on Department policies, legislation, and other requirements.

Background Screening Requirements
It Is the policy of the Florida Department of Education that applicants for employment / volunteer undergo Level 2 background screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
