Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Med Surg Discipline : RN Start Date : ASAP Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Oncology / Med-Surg RN for a night shift position requiring prior travel experience, oncology skills, and Epic proficiency. Responsibilities Hospital setting on the 7th floor, caring for oncology and med / surg patients Patient population includes general med / surg and oncology / neutropenic patients Patient ratios are 1 : 5-6 with support staff, decreasing to 1 : 3-4 for primary care or chemo administration Unit comprises 15 beds on the 6th floor (medical) and 21 beds on the 7th floor (higher acuity / oncology) Float required between 6th and 7th floors and to all ThedaCare facilities within a 60 mile radius as needed Night shifts (12 hours) with every other weekend and rotating holiday requirements Epic EMR experience within the last two years is required Provide specialized care for oncology and med / surg patients including chemo administration and management of neutropenic patients Team support staff available on units Orientation week may have variable hours as GSA hours are not guaranteed All holiday shifts are subject to unit-specific rotation Missed shifts must be made up within two weeks No on-call or call-back requirements Requirements Active WI or compact RN license required AHA BLS and ONC certifications required; AHA ACLS preferred Minimum 3 years of RN experience and at least 2 years med / surg experience required Ability to interpret cardiac telemetry required Previous travel contract completion is required; first-time travelers not accepted Experience in port utilization, chemotherapy administration, BiPAP / CPAP use, and initiation / titration of heparin and insulin drips required Must not live within 50 miles of ThedaCare Corporate Center in Neenah, WI Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-608842.
