General Description :

Primary Purpose : Coordinate and assure data quality of records for ISBE reporting and leadership teams, complete designated ISBE reports, and conduct program evaluations. The Data Coordinator analyzes and monitors reporting capabilities for the District.

Minimum Required Qualifications :

To be considered for this position, the candidate must possess the following required education, certification, skills, experience and / or qualifications. Employees are responsible for obtaining / retaining the most current statutory and administrative rule requirements for their position.

  • Education / Training :
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or institution.

  • Licensure :
  • Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) preferred

  • Endorsement :
  • General Administrative endorsement, Principal Endorsement or comparable out of state certification preferred

  • Experience :
  • Previous successful school administrator preferred

  • Previous successful teaching experience preferred
  • Knowledge / Abilities / Skills :
  • Experience in analysis of assessment data, evaluation, and school / district improvement processes : planning, goal setting, strategic planning, and systems evaluation.

  • Strong statistical, analytical and research skills.
  • Knowledge of Illinois State Board of Education reporting requirements and school improvement processes.
  • Familiarity with student information systems.
  • Effective project management, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; Perform written and verbal and presentations as necessary
  • Experience working with diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to represent student and district needs in a positive and professional manner
  • Collaborative leadership.
  • Deep understanding of best practices in school improvement and use of data in supporting and facilitating change.
  • Ability to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this position.
  • Use of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education.

    o Bilingual (Spanish preferred)

    o Master's / Doctorate degree.

    o Experience working with diverse internal and external stakeholders

    o Experience working in English Language Learner and Special Education programming.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement and supervise a centralized student enrollment process
  • Provide leadership and support for the annual student registration process
  • Submit assigned state reports to ISBE with accuracy and assure compliance with timelines.
  • Participate in school and District leadership teams providing data-informed feedback and suggestions
  • Conduct program evaluations and prepare reports for school and District leadership teams.
  • Collect data from individual school sites, consolidate and create summary database / reports on the central computer system or personal computer. Use common software packages (word processing, spreadsheet) to produce additional reports.
  • Provide first-level support to all school-based personnel in the use of student information system and data warehouse, handle complex system errors or malfunctions, and provide expertise in non-routine situations.
  • Provide assistance in all areas of student information such as receiving data entry requests and determine appropriate procedures to obtain input / output result for databases.
  • Assist in establishing and enforcing standards, policies and procedures for the student information management system.
  • Maintain student assessment records with accuracy on student information and / or data warehouse.
  • Facilitate electronic transfer and storage of student assessment data.
  • Coordinate work with outside statistical vendors.
  • Update and revise District data dashboard and strategic planning documents.
  • Fulfill requests for specialized data reports and training.
  • Assist in providing instruction and disseminating information to staff and other school administrators regarding student information requirements for the operation of the student accountability system and conduct regular checks to ensure data accuracy.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the school district.
  • Performance Evaluation / Accountability :

    Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Proviso Township High Schools District 209 Board's policy on evaluation of personnel. All evaluations shall comply with State and Federal law.

Ability to work in an office environment, sitting, standing, light lifting, filing, operating office machines and computers, communicating with staff and others. Occasional lifting, otherwise non-demanding physical office activities.

    The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet / moderate to loud. The employee is frequently required to interact with the other staff. The employee is directly responsible for the safety and well-being of students.

  • Occasional prolonged and irregular hours.
  • Stand, walk, crouch, and do moderate lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Knowledge of multimedia equipment and current technology.
  • Position Goals :

    Annually the employee, in consultation with the supervisor, shall develop the employee's goals for the forthcoming year, which shall be set forth in the annual evaluation document. In the event that the employee and supervisor fail to agree on the goals to be included in said document, the supervisor shall establish the goals.

    Compensation & Benefits :

  • Salary Range : Regionally competitive, based on experience and qualifications : $104,613 - $141,535

Interviews of selected qualified applicants will be conducted, and a qualified candidate will be recommended by the hiring supervisor to the Office of Human Resources.
