Staff Accountant
Hybrid in Fort Lauderdale, FL 3 days onsite / 2 days remote
Role Purpose
Responsible for general accounting operations and financial transactions, including reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining the general ledger and ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout all company accounting tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure timely and accurate entry of accounting data into NetSuite
Work with different departments to confirm that each expense is recorded in the correct account
Manage and execute amortizations according to the predetermined schedule
Maintain diligent oversight of the prepayment account to ensure accuracy and compliance
Prepare and reconcile end-of-month intercompany journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting
Accurately register all deposits into system in a timely manner
Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy between bank statements and the company's financial records
Engage with each department to understand their financial needs and priorities for the upcoming fiscal period
Collect and analyze past spending data and financial reports from each department to establish a realistic baseline and budget
Manage and record monthly accruals to accurately reflect incurred expenses within the financial period
Maintain regular communication with colleagues across the business to ensure alignment and consistency of information
Prepare invoices for inter-company transactions

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies
Bachelor's degree in accounting
Four years' + experience working as an accountant
Advanced Excel skills such as V-lookups, pivot tables, etc.
Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax and banking knowledge
Experience with multi-entity companies
Team-oriented
Ability to work under pressure
Must be comfortable working with tobacco products, specifically premium cigars
Problem-solver
Good oral and written communication skills
Bilingual English and Spanish
