Job Overview

We are currently looking for hard-working, enthusiastic, self-starters, to join our catering team as a Catering Prep Cook & Expeditor.  The position is part-time on Fridays and Saturdays with lots of room for growth and would be based out of our location on 379 Suydam Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Although the shift times vary, applicants must be able and willing to work early mornings (5 am). Shift days may also vary based on the weekly catering schedule.

Applicants should be kind, team-oriented, and show an interest in food that is fresh, thoughtful and artisanal.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Properly execute daily catering jobs & online orders
• Proficiency in timeliness, time management & organization!
• Assist in off-site deliveries
• Must have the ability to read, speak, understand, follow written directions, and verbal instructions in English.
• Ability to work on the fly for last minute jobs
• Respect food hygiene standards while reducing waste
• Ensure that all work is done quickly, efficiently, and up to Black Seed's standards

Qualifications and Skills

Maintain solid knife skills

Ability to follow direction

Work clean and efficiently

Have early AM availability

Attention to detail and multitasking

Teamwork and good communication skills

Self-starter

Ability to lift 50+ lbs

Food handlers a plus
