The Position
We are seeking an EV Battery System Research and Development Engineer for our Superior Township, MI facility . This role is within the BSD department, focusing on EV high voltage battery system R&D, reporting to the BSD Manager.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Core Responsibilities
Multiple openings exist at the Engineer I level. Responsibilities may include :
- Developing new high voltage battery system technologies supporting Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis EVs.
- Supporting North American EV production with parts verification and technical support.
- Addressing EV quality issues through data analysis and root cause investigation.
- Conducting feasibility studies via simulation, lab tests, and on-road evaluations.
- Communicating with Korean R&D to integrate new technologies into production.
- Managing collaborations with external partners like labs, universities, and suppliers.
- Monitoring industry trends and applying insights to development strategies.
- Staying updated with technical publications and reports.
Additional responsibilities include setting engineering goals, developing strategies and budgets, collaborating on resource planning, facilitating knowledge sharing, delivering project presentations, supporting pre- and post-production issues, and traveling domestically and internationally (up to 20%).

Basic Qualifications
