We are seeking a compassionate, highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Heart & Vascular Institute – Mooresville team. The RN serves as a leader of the healthcare team by establishing authentic, personalized relationships with patients and their chosen support systems. The RN collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans that promote optimal health or support a peaceful death.
The Registered Nurse utilizes best scientific evidence and clinical judgment—paired with empathy and compassion—to guide patients along their health journey. This role requires accountability, critical thinking, and a dedication to delivering care aligned with Novant Health’s mission and values.

What We're Looking For :
Education :
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing – required
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred
If not BSN-prepared, must be enrolled in an approved BSN program within one year of hire and obtain BSN within five years of hire.
Experience :
Previous cardiac, telemetry, or vascular experience – preferred
Minimum of one year of acute care RN experience – preferred
Licensure / Certification :
Current RN licensure in the appropriate state – required
Basic Life Support (BLS) – required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required (or obtained within 90 days of hire)
Specialty certification in cardiac or vascular nursing – preferred (e.g., CVRN, PCCN, CCRN)
Additional Skills Required :
Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and team members
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining compassion and professionalism
Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing
What You'll Do :
Serve as a clinical leader and patient advocate, ensuring safe, evidence-based, and patient-centred care.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care for patients with cardiac and vascular conditions.
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, assist with diagnostic and interventional procedures, and manage cardiac medications.
Educate patients and families about cardiovascular disease management, prevention, and recovery.
Utilize electronic medical record (EMR) systems to document and coordinate all aspects of care.
Maintain compliance with infection prevention, medication administration, and patient safety protocols.
Foster a positive and collaborative team culture that promotes respect, integrity, and professional excellence.
