Job Description

The Site Safety and Health Manager (SHHO) will provide support to the Operations department to enforce corporate safety and health policies and procedures. In addition to his / her direct responsibilities, the SHHO will participate in and complete all tasks designated to them by the Corporate Safety Director.

Responsibilities

• Conduct onsite safety inspections, safety orientations, and accident investigations.
• Supervise training of employees on safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Verify compliance with health and safety regulations and ensure all necessary records are maintained and prepared according to established guidelines.
• Manage the participation in Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspections, providing inspectors with appropriate documents and identifying safety measures.
• Act as advisor to the safety administration team regarding projects, tasks, operations, and accidents.
• Plan and accomplish goals using experience and judgement.
• Attend all initial meetings with the Project Staff and Subcontractor Representatives to define roles within the project program.
• Research new regulations and developments in the field of Health and Safety and recommend changes in the companys program.
• Control hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee practices through site visits, safety plans, and education of all supervisory personnel.
• Perform a variety of tasks.
