Job description

A School in Rochester is currently seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join their growing team.

About the Opportunity :

  • Start Date : ASAP
  • Assignment Length : Ongoing (Contract to Hire)
  • Schedule : Monday - Friday
  • Hours : 8a-4p
  • Patient Population : Ages 5-22, IDD

Responsibilities : The SLP will :

  • Evaluating communication skills to include : receptive language, expressive language, articulation, voice, fluency, oral-motor skills and hearing.
  • Developing a comprehensive service plan according to program policies and regulations, including school, outpatient, etc.
  • Providing therapy as outlined by treatment plan of communication disorders of Individual Treatment Plan / Individual Education Plan.
  • Maintaining professional standards in and out of the Center in compliance with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Code of Ethics.
  • Instructing and counseling students / clients and / or their families regarding the specific nature of their communications impairments and how to best deal with this in various speaking situations.

    • Qualifications :

  • Master's degree or its equivalent in the field of Speech Pathology
  • Hold Certificate of Clinical Competence from American Speech / Hearing Association
  • Current state Speech / Language Pathologist license
  • Three+ years of experience working with children as a speech / language pathologist.

    • Desired Skills :

    Experience with IDD students
