We are looking for a Florida licensed Attorney to join our Senior Law Unit on a long-term contract basis in Plantation, Florida on a hybrid baasis. In this role, you will provide legal counsel and representation to residents aged 60 and older in areas such as housing, health and public benefits, consumer protection, naturalization, elder abuse, and financial exploitation. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by assisting clients with litigation cases and other legal matters.

Responsibilities :

• Conduct interviews with clients and witnesses to gather relevant information for cases.
• Provide legal advice to clients, explaining their rights and addressing their concerns.
• Analyze statutes, case law, and other legal precedents to develop strategies and solutions.
• Prepare and draft legal documents, including motions, orders, pleadings, and client agreements.
• Represent clients in court, preparing them for hearings and presenting cases effectively.
• Review and analyze client-provided documents to assess case viability and evidence.
• Engage in discovery processes, including depositions and examination of records.
• Manage case progress and ensure compliance with deadlines using case management systems.
• Conduct community outreach events and educational training sessions for staff and clients.
• Maintain detailed records, case notes, and time-keeping documentation in the system.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active admission to the Florida Bar in good standing.
• Minimum of five years of experience practicing law, with a focus on civil litigation.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with clients and team members.
• Ability to manage a diverse caseload independently while maintaining attention to detail.
• Proficiency in drafting legal documents and conducting legal research.
• Skilled in using virtual platforms such as Zoom and Teams for communication.
• Advanced computer skills with expertise in Office software, particularly Word and Excel.
