We are looking for a dedicated Attorney with expertise in public benefits law to join our team in Plantation, Florida. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to assist clients with legal matters involving healthcare benefits, reemployment assistance, Social Security Administration cases, and other public benefit issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to advocacy, excellent organizational skills, and a desire to work closely with a collaborative legal team.
Responsibilities :
- Handle all aspects of case management, including client and witness interviews, legal research, discovery, investigations, negotiations, and appeals.
- Provide legal advice and representation to clients on matters related to public benefits and healthcare law.
- Participate in team meetings and ensure compliance with program requirements, directives, and reporting obligations.
- Conduct outreach activities, including community events and educational training sessions, to inform clients and stakeholders about public benefits programs.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal interns to deliver high-quality legal services.
- Review agency notices, medical records, and other pertinent documents to effectively evaluate cases.
- Maintain accurate records in the case management system and communicate case updates to supervising attorneys.
- Ensure all deadlines are met and adhere to grant requirements.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management or supervisors.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active membership in the Florida Bar in good standing.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Previous experience in public benefits law, particularly in areas such as healthcare or reemployment assistance, is highly desirable.
- Strong ability to manage a diverse caseload independently while meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrated interest in working with individuals from underserved communities or those requiring additional support.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
