Sentara is seeking a dedicated OB Technician to join our Labor and Delivery team on the Full-Time Day Shift . This is an exciting opportunity to play an essential role in supporting mothers, babies, and families during one of life's most special moments.
As an OB Tech, you'll collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and other members of the care team to ensure a safe, comfortable, and positive birthing experience. You'll provide both technical and patient care support in labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum settings-helping our patients feel cared for every step of the way.
What You'll Do :
Assist with labor and delivery procedures and provide technical support to the clinical team.
Prepare, set up, and maintain sterile fields and surgical instruments for deliveries and C-sections.
Support patients and families with compassion and professionalism.
Maintain equipment and supplies, ensuring readiness for patient care at all times.
Work collaboratively with nurses and providers to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care.
Assist with patient admissions, vital signs, and general unit duties as needed.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience as an OB Tech, Surgical Tech, or in a related healthcare role preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
