Key Responsibilities
- Design, engineer, and oversee the installation of electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, lighting controls, fire alarm / life safety, low voltage provisions) for commercial, institutional, industrial, and government facilities.
- Conduct field surveys to evaluate existing electrical systems and recommend upgrades or energy-efficient solutions.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to develop design specifications and ensure deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations.
- Prepare electrical technical specifications, one-line diagrams, risers, panel schedules, and construction details using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Perform electrical load calculations, short-circuit and coordination studies, and other design calculations to ensure system reliability and compliance.
- Review project budgets, timelines, and recommend alternatives for cost-effective implementation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
- Conduct on-site inspections, site surveys, and field punch-list reviews during construction.
- Stay current on NEC, NFPA, state building codes, and emerging electrical technologies.
- Coordinate with in-house mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection teams.
- Work with vendors on equipment specifications and selections.
- Ensure project deliverables are issued on time and meet quality standards.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and clients.
- Proficient use of Microsoft 365 Suite (SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and collaboration.
- Work independently and in a team environment to deliver high-quality results on schedule.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field).Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (or ability to obtain in the near term).Minimum 7–10 years of experience in electrical system design and project execution.Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior staff.Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required.Compensation & Benefits
