DENTAL ASSISTANT

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our growing team.
Position Overview
As a Pediatric Orthodontic Dental Assistant at West Valley Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics, you will play a crucial role in assisting our orthodontists in providing exceptional care to our pediatric patients.
Your primary responsibilities will include working closely with young patients, helping with orthodontic procedures, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and offering a friendly and comforting atmosphere to ensure a positive experience for our young clientele.
Key Responsibilities
Assist orthodontists during dental procedures and treatments.-
- Prepare treatment rooms and equipment for orthodontic procedures.
- Sterilize and maintain orthodontic instruments and equipment.
- Take digital impressions, X-rays, and photographs as needed.
- Provide education and instructions to pediatric patients and their parents on proper orthodontic care and hygiene
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation
- Assist with fitting and adjusting orthodontic appliances, such as braces and retainers
- Monitor and track patient progress
- Assist with scheduling and appointment coordination
- Help maintain a welcoming and child-friendly atmosphere in the office.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- Prior experience working in a pediatric dental or orthodontic practice is preferred
- Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and equipment
- Excellent communication skills, especially with children and adolescents
- Empathetic and compassionate nature
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and sterile environment
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
