Job Summary :

Under the direction of the Health Center manager, the Medical Receptionist / Interpreter performs a variety of task related to answering the telephone, scheduling appointments, mailing reminder letters, no-show letters and recall letters to patients. The Medical Receptionist / Interpreter demonstrates the ability to be a team member. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families and visitors of all age groups, while being sensitive to their culture and religious belief.

Job Responsibilities :

• Communicate effectively with the bilingual (Spanish) patients
• Answer telephones in a courteous and professional manner
• Assist patients with scheduling and rescheduling of appointments
• Monitor calls and responds appropriately
• Demonstrates the ability to answer patients questions in a professional manner
• Demonstrates ability to update and correct patients' addresses and contact telephone numbers
• Consistently mails appointment reminder letters one week in advance of appointments
• Make appointment reminder calls a day in advance of appointment
• Deliver messages to providers and staff
• Consistently mail monthly recall letters, paps, and immunizations
• Consistently mails "Welcome Cards" to all new patients
• Answers the telephone by the third ring
• Is willing to relieve and provide back-up for the Medical Receptionists, as needed
• Keep adequate supplies on hand
• Keep the work area clean and organized
• Maintains prompt and regular attendance
• Verify timecard at the end of each pay period
• Performs related work, as assigned
